The organisation as defined by the management of internal and external trade-offs

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Matching what people think and do internally in the organisation and what people think and do in the environment is making the organisation relevant.  The borders is the place where that becomes evident.

This idea is conecptionally true, but quite complicated to achieve.

Developing mechanism to make these trade-off beneficial for all is organisational design.
